DOCUMENTARY FILM

Written & Directed by Meagan Murphy

How would you know?

And…How do you find out?

What if your breasts are sacred portals?

When a woman has a positive connection to her breasts—the life-giving source of nourishment and pleasure—she is more likely to respect her natural self, cultivate a sense of empowerment, trust her intuition, and ultimately achieve a healthy mental, physical, and spiritual state of being.

Unfortunately, 85% of women report feeling disconnected or/or ambivalent about their breasts.* Yet, experiences such as these aren’t only exclusive to women…

Since its inception, The Breast Archives has ignited dialogue across a wide spectrum of experiences—from pubescent girls to menopausal women, from men grappling with their own body image to members of the queer and bi communities who recognize the film’s inclusivity and resonance with their own journeys.

The Breast Archives is here for e v e r y b o d y.

From moms and daughters, to breast cancer patients and survivors, doulas, midwives, dancers… Nipple bearers of all ages, shapes and sizes. The Breast Archives explores and celebrates the complex relationship that the breast experience offers all of us.

In the film, you'll meet 9 extraordinary individuals, ages 33 to 78, who bare their breasts and boldly share intimate stories of pubescent passage, experiences with shame and sexuality, and the profound impact of media, religion, and culture on their self-worth and personal development.

By exposing their breasts and expressing their fear-based emotions, these women begin to rid themselves of untrue and limiting beliefs.
